Required: Part Time – Golf Course – General Maintenance and Administration person (temporary position).

Church Stretton Golf Club provides a unique golfing experience: it is ranked by National Club Golfer and Golf World’s, Top 100 golf courses in England. The club is situated in the beautiful South Shropshire hills just 14 miles south of Shrewsbury and 15 miles north of Ludlow. This 1898 James Braid designed ‘hilltop’ course is undulating in nature, with fantastic well drained subsoil and outstanding views.

Job Specification:
Working an average of 24 hours a week the role is Part-Time and adaptable in nature i.e., flexible, 3 days per week and may vary per week/season.

You will be working within a small team of Greenkeepers initially working on basic Greenkeeping duties; however, the role will also include general maintenance around the course, clubhouse and changing rooms to include painting, decorating, gardening and outside work. Importantly we will need someone who also has a basic understanding of general H&S process’s as the role will include – updating and maintaining Church Stretton Golf Clubs Citation H&S platform. Therefore, moderate IT skills (example: word and excel) is a requirement.

By working within a small team over time you will gain experience and be involved in all areas of golf course maintenance, machinery use and ground care management. You must be prepared for early mornings and working in all weather conditions. The work could potentially be physical, and a good level of fitness will be advantageous.

This is a newly created role within Church Stretton Golf Club and one that we see will improve many areas on the course, around the clubhouse and complete some admin duties, to move the Club forward.

Therefore, it would be ideal for someone, who enjoys being out of doors and has a ‘hands-on’ approach but also has a keen eye and skills to manage a dedicated Health and Safety IT platform and will fit someone who enjoys getting things done?

We are therefore seeking someone who has a blend of skills and will fit in with our current staff, you will report to the Greens, House and General Committee.

The salary will be £11,000 for 3 days per week.
